10 Reasons Why You Need A Mobile Website

A mobile app might not be the best solution for some businesses.  It is a fact and there are many reason, even if it is just a 'wait and see strategy' that a company has taken on developing a dedicated mobile app.

One thing that can't be ignored however is that more users each day are using their mobile devices to search for products and services that they want to buy.

So even if a native mobile app doesn't fit your strategy, here are a few reasons why you should at least have a mobile friendly website:
  • Mobile now accounts for 10% of internet usage worldwide (this has more than doubled over last 18 months) (Source: The Next Web)
  • 7.96% of all web traffic in the U.S. is mobile traffic. That number skyrockets to 14.85% in Africa, and 17.84% in Asia — up 192.5% since 2010 (Source: Hubspot)
  • 29% of mobile users are open to scanning a mobile tag to get coupons (Source: Hubspot)
  • There are currently 6 Billion mobile subscribers worldwide (Source: Digital Buzz Blog)
  • There was 103% growth in website traffic from smartphones from 2011-2012 (Source: Hubspot)
  • There are over 1.2 Billion people accessing the web from their mobiles (Source: Digital Buzz Blog)
And here are a few more where we couldn't seem to track down a source:
  • 59% of smartphone shopping is done at home, while 41% is done out of the home
  • 80% of searches conducted on a smartphone are spontaneous
  • 38% of our daily media interactions are on smartphones
  • 30% of shopping-related content accessed on a smartphone is driven by search
It certainly points to the fact that if you are missing out on mobile traffic to your website then you are missing out on business.
